“ASEAN…the Emerging Automotive Hub of the World”, How could it be? This question is still be the challenge, especially in the meaning sustainable in the competitiveness for ASEAN automotive industry as of the production base of the world. Automotive policy and investment among ASEAN countries are the key of success to bring the ASEAN meet the goal of collaboration in automotive industry to promote ASEAN as a single market and production base of the world. The year 2015, as realized, ASEAN Economic Community is completely effective. The foreign direct investment is increasing continuously in the region especially Thai, Indonesia, Malaysia and also Vietnam, Cambodia and Myanmar. However, nowadays the energy supply and demand for fossil fuel is the global issue which resulted in automotive technology and industry development to use the alternative fuel and advance technology vehicle such as Hybrid vehicle, Plug-in Hybrid vehicle, Electric vehicle and also the fuel cell vehicle to reduce the CO2 in the transportation and industry and for energy saving. In addition, the emission standard and safety standard is higher upgrading. Both collaboration and competition among ASEAN in automotive industry are the challenge for government to stipulate the policy and regulation and also the challenge for the private sector to strategize their business.
